Frequently Asked Questions

  • Under Paragraph 3(1) of Ghana’s Immigration Regulations, all foreigners entering Ghana must have a valid passport and an entry visa obtained prior to arrival. Exceptions to this rule include nationals from ECOWAS member states and countries with specific bilateral visa-free agreements.
  • Please be mindful to start the process EARLY.

  • Please note a yellow fever vaccination is required for visa approval and entry into Ghana.

Participants requiring a visa will need a formal host invitation letter to support their application. To request this letter, please provide the following information:

  • A clear scanned copy of your passport biodata page
  • Your official work address

Kindly submit the required documents via email to Mr. Etornam Akaho (etornam.akaho@gaec.gov.gh) and copy director.npi@gaec.gov.gh. To ensure timely processing, we encourage participants to submit requests as early as possible.

  • Upon request after registration for the summit, the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission will provide you with the required invitation letter for visa purposes.
  • Invitation letter: To be provided by the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission after registration.
  • Introduction Letter: To be provided by your employer/organization which introduces you to the embassy as a staff travelling to Ghana to partake in the USANES summit.
  • Information of Contact Point: To be provided in the invitation letter from the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission.
  • Digital Address of Host: The host is the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, and the digital address is GE-257-0465
  • Accra International Airport: USANES 2026 will be held at the Labadi Beach Hotel, located about 6.5 km from the airport.
  • There are several public transportation options that participants may use. These include commercial taxis, UBER, Bolts, car rentals, and buses (Popularly known as Trotro). However, we recommend the use of UBER, Bolts or Car rentals.
  • Transportation can be requested for USANES registered attendees from the Accra International Airport to the Labadi Beach Hotel.

  • Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park is a national park and mausoleum in Accra, named after Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the founding father of Ghana.
  • Makola Market is one of the largest street markets in Ghana, where travelers can buy souvenirs and artwork.
  • Aburi Botanical Gardens have an area of 64.8 hectares and overlook the Accra coastal plain, from an elevation of more than 400 meters above sea level.

A visit to the Osu Oxford Street will provide you with a variety of restaurants with both local and continental meal choices.
